The purpose of the Greenwood Primary School P&C is to support the education of our children at our school and help foster a strong community for everyone’s benefit.
We achieve this through fundraising, and by arranging activities which help bring our community together.
Last year we supported our school by donating books, prizes, and funding excursions and incursions, allowing them to be run at lower cost to families across the school. We also run the school canteen which is an essential service for many busy families.
Staples of the Greenwood school experience are run by or supported by the P&C. This year you’ll get to enjoy the mothers’ day and fathers’ day stalls, the school disco, the lapathon, the Quiz Night (an outrageous evening), the Easter Raffle and of course numerous sausage sizzles and cake stalls. We are also working on a Scitech takeover evening (which was soooo much fun last time), and a movie night. We’ll share a calendar once we have firmed up a few more dates.
Please also look out for other fundraising initiatives as we promote them including getting your copy of this year’s Entertainment Book, and making sure your Containers for Change 10c recipient is the Greenwood Primary School P&C.
The more funds we raise, the more opportunities we can provide our children, and support a vibrant school community. So when you support your P&C, you are supporting your child’s experience at Greenwood Primary School.
So, please get involved: attend an event, buy a hot dog, participate in a fundraiser, or easiest of all is to treat your child with a lunch from the school canteen which is really treating yourself to some time back!
Your P&C is made up of parents from across school year groups, and a few enthusiastic teachers. Anyone can join and we want more parents from each year to get involved. If you wish to become a financial (voting) member of the P&C Association, the fee has been set at $1 per family. We already have a number of fresh faces, exciting ideas and stacks of enthusiasm.
We welcome new ideas and those who can contribute time, funds, or donations of other kinds. We usually meet on the second Wednesday of the month at school at 7pm – but check our Facebook page or email us first. We’ll take whatever time you have available.
