Principal’s Message

Greenwood Primary School is an Independent Public School and an amalgamation of the former Allenswood and East Greenwood schools. We want your child to feel safe and secure to allow them to gain all the skills to develop to their maximum potential.  Core to achieving this goal requires our staff and community to form strong collaborative partnerships to nurture and challenge your child to be their best.  The staff are very clear on the expectations placed on them through our agreed Moral Purpose to develop intellectual curiosity, social and emotional potential and a moral and environmental conscience for each and every child in their care.

Our focus on early intervention through engaging in community partnerships and our commitment is to always use evidence to drive decision making.  Our active School Board has a high profile in the school community and is central to the strategic development of the school’s directions.  The P&C Association is active in developing opportunities for families to connect and support the programs of the school. Being a newer build design for this area, the school offers modern facilities on superbly landscaped grounds. Nature play and Loose Parts play are central to creating opportunities for students to explore and build resilience.

As part of facilitating students’ exposure to digital technologies, latest technology e-Boards are fitted in all teaching areas. Our assembly area has a state of the art ‘Cube’ display system. Students also have access to iPads, desktop computers, notebooks and coding using a variety of robots. Classroom teachers also work collaboratively to integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities into their learning program.

We look forward to developing a strong partnership with you and your child and welcome you to the Greenwood Primary School community
