Factions

There are four sports factions: Blue, Gold, Green and Red. Children are allocated to factions, on the basis of maintaining equal numbers of children in each faction for each age group where possible.  Siblings are allocated to the same faction.

Naming of Clothing

Please ensure all clothing and personal items are clearly marked with your child’s name.  The school staff will attempt to return any lost items that are marked with the owner’s name.  However, no responsibility will be taken for unmarked lost items.  Articles of clothing left behind go into a box in the Medical Room and unclaimed items will be donated to the Uniform Shop or charity at the end of each Semester.

Personal Grooming

Bright painted fingernails, make-up, tatoos and cosmetic jewellery are not permitted.  Sleepers or studs are the only permissible type of earrings.
Education Department regulations state that hair longer than shoulder length should be tied back and off the face. It is also an Education Department policy that denim is not worn at school.

Toys and Personal Equipment

Children should not bring their toys to school as loss or damage usually causes distress for the owner. Electronic equipment brought to school eg. electronic readers, are the responsibilty of the child.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones are not allowed to be used during school hours.  Parents who allow their child to bring a mobile phone to school must understand the school takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to the phone.  Please refer to the Mobile Phone Policy available from the school office.

Sunwise and Hats

It is school policy that children wear their school hat when out in the sun at all times as a precaution against skin cancer.  Only those wearing hats will be permitted to use unshaded areas.  Children are encouraged to come to school with sunscreen on.  Sunscreen lotion is available in every classroom for re-application throughout the day.

The school does have a small supply ofschool hats available in TA 10 for $8.00 per hat. All hats should be named inside the hat with a white (or light colour) marker pen. Please don’t just label the tag as these often tear off.

Drink Containers

During hot weather many children bring their own drink containers to school.  Please note CHILDREN MUST NOT SHARE DRINKING CONTAINERS WITH OTHERS, as the risk of transmission of disease is great. Health and Phys Ed advice 2/2/96.
